Millennium Hotel Knickerbocker Chicago

My parents arrived in the middle of the night after a delayed flight and found their reservation had been canceled by the night manager. They’d completed pre-check-in and paid in full, so being left without a room was unacceptable. I also had trouble from the start. When I asked the front desk about an early check-in request I’d submitted ahead of time, the staff member was rude and dismissive. That same employee was on duty when I later reported my missing Apple Watch and remained unhelpful. I noticed it was gone after checking out, returned about two hours later, and couldn’t find it. Apple’s tracking later showed it at an unrelated location. I gave that address to the police and told the hotel, but I didn’t feel they took the concern seriously or made a meaningful effort to help. Between the service, the reservation problem, and the way my missing property was handled, this was one of my worst hotel stays. Save yourself the trouble and stay across the street at The Drake instead.

The staff were 11/10, from the front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant wait staff. We had a great weekend right beside the lake, and our room was upgraded. Early check-in and late check-out were options too. Couldn’t have asked for better service 🤙🏻

I was here for a conference for the first time and would book again for next year. It’s an older building, but the room amenities were nice. The bathtub was big enough for a proper bath, and my room by the elevators had both a ceiling shower and a handheld spray. I only ate at the bar once, but the food was spectacular.

The cable service was the one issue. I couldn’t watch anything through it and had to link my YouTube account to use the TV. The room was a little small, but fair for me and my fiancé, and it was clean, which mattered most. The atmosphere was beautiful, and check-in was quick and easy. I love the hotel.
