The room was very nice, clean, and well appointed, if not elegant, and the furnishings were comfortable. One problem: there was no room service Sunday evening, and there wasn’t much nearby to go to. My husband had a meeting there. Valet parking was $36 a night.

I was a bridesmaid at a wedding there last night and had a really fun time. The club was extremely accommodating, and they practically gave the bridal party rooms to stay in. All the rooms are very elegant and worth the price of having a wedding there. I enjoyed it a lot.

I attended a lecture series at this private club as a member’s guest. First they served a full lunch, with salmon as the entrée, and then there was a speaker. The service was excellent. The club has been around for at least 75 years. If you know a member, try to get an invitation. It’s worth the effort.

The Standard Club was an amazing place for the fundraiser I attended. The lobby looked great, and the staff were very hospitable. The elevator ride up was pretty average, which surprised me for such a high-class place, but once I stepped out, the red carpets made it feel like I’d arrived at a red carpet event. The ballroom was incredible, with its chandeliers, lighting, and a view from the second floor. Even the restroom was a surprise, with stairs up to the urinals, two toilet stalls, clothing, paper towels, and scented fragrances. From the ballroom to the bathroom, the whole experience was amazing.
