Hampton Inn & Suites Chillicothe

When work takes me away from home, it’s reassuring to know a Hampton Inn can make the stay a little more comfortable. This one was a safe choice, just like the others I’ve stayed at. The room was roomy, clean, and comfortable.

The room looked out over the courtyard, which was decorated for Christmas, just like the hotel. It was really cute, and I’d stay again, even though the price was a bit more than I usually spend. We came through on the way back from Thanksgiving. The front desk guy working Saturday was genuinely friendly, smiling and laughing, and helped arrange for our rooms to be close together.

Cleanliness matters most to me in a hotel, and this place was spotless in the room, bathroom, hallways, and pool. The stay itself was drama-free, exactly how I like it. Staff on both front desk shifts I dealt with were polite and helpful. Breakfast was free and had enough choices, with hot items like eggs, potatoes, and sausages as well as cold cereal and juice, so there was no need to go elsewhere. The card-controlled entrances also let me park close to my room.

The coffee was good, and the location and front desk staff were both great. Our room was clean enough, though the shower pressure was weak. The adjoining first-floor room let in a lot of sound, and we could hear our neighbors talking at a normal volume. Next time I’ll ask for a higher-floor room that doesn’t adjoin another. We were also surprised by how hard the beds were, since we’re used to comfy Hampton beds. Even our teenager woke with hip pain. Still, I’d stay again. These are minor complaints.
