The Vista Room’s balcony was the best place to take in the starry sky. It’s far enough from the city for amazing stargazing, yet only minutes from the historic and holy El Santuario de Chimayó. The room was adorable, cozy, well appointed, and spotless. Breakfast was a real treat. The chef came by to explain the care and ingredients behind the meal, and that personal touch made it even more special. I’m particular about coffee, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I don’t usually write reviews, but Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast was too wonderful not to mention. It had the charm, location, food, and hospitality we wanted. We’ll book the Vista Room again on our next visit, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the Taos- Chimayó area.

My husband spent two hours on one of the patios, using his Merlyn app to identify 30 different birds. He was thrilled! We had a great visit, and we’ll stay again. The outdoor spaces are wonderful, the rooms have beautiful furnishings, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were unique and delicious, including a special one for Mother's Day.

After helping with our Maestra’s book launch reception in Truchas, a dear friend and I arrived late and exhausted. They’d upgraded our room, such a sweet gesture! The room was warm and cozy, with a comfortable bed. Everett's breakfast by the fireplace was delightful, especially the arroz con leche. It was lovely meeting the couple who were about to get married in the living room later that day. Always magic at Casa Escondida. Come stay and see what magic is in store for you!

The staff were very friendly and polite, and both our comfortable, well-appointed room and tasty breakfast made this a great stop along the high road to Taos. The one thing I didn’t like was the serratia marcescens staining on the shower curtain, which made it look unclean. I’d recommend soaking its end in diluted bleach.

Once you get into the densely populated area, Casa Escondida feels serene and calm, away from the noise of the outside world. Ernesto and his team were super helpful and attentive to our needs during our stay. I highly recommend looking into this remote getaway for a wonderful view of the night sky and cosmos 🌌.
