The unit and location were things we really loved, and the maintenance staff were kind, helpful, and quick to respond. The location is amazing, too, with huge windows and beautiful painted brick. But after several years, the promised amenities were run down or removed without explanation. Even getting a $10 replacement part approved for the gym machine took months, and only moved along after my husband emailed the link. The lobby badly needs paint, and the package room is a mess. It doesn't feel cared for. I can't recommend living here because of the corporate owners' policies and how residents are treated. It felt like NAP corporation was trying to take money from us at every turn. When we upgraded to a bigger unit, we were quoted one price during the showing and agreed that day. The lease showed a much higher price, and we were told we'd waited too long and the price had gone up. A pet fee we'd been told was a one-time payment was added back to our monthly bill. After seven years as reliable, respectful tenants, we needed to end the lease early. They kept us in the dark about the fees until we formally said we were leaving. The eventual amount was astronomical, far above the usual market rate. They also charged a full month's rent though we were there only a week. It took multiple calls and emails to get that money refunded. It felt like a hostage negotiation, with my husband and me as the hostages. All of it was resolved, but only after we had to fight for our rights as tenants. It was exhausting. Even if leasing staff wanted to help, I don't think they were allowed to. Each time, it seemed the company was trying to take money and hoping we wouldn't notice. That might have worked if my husband and I weren't an accountant and an economist, close friends with a housing lawyer. By the time I left, I felt so disrespected that I couldn't recommend the place to anyone.
