Jefferson Hills Motel

My partner and I live in different states, me in OH and him in PA, so this motel has become our home away from home. We choose it every time and can't wait to return. The staff are so friendly, the rooms are always clean, and it feels like a family place instead of a business.

Check the sheets under the bedspread, behind the dressers, and along the sides of the beds. I've seen blood on the bedbug protectors, and the staff said they wouldn't change them until Spring Cleaning. When I pointed out a fresh blood stain, they wouldn't try baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to remove it. They covered it with another mattress protector instead. After watching how the workers handled things for 72 hours, I couldn't keep quiet. They say you only pay a small fee, as if that excuses dirty bedding and service. Most stains can come out, but it feels like they'd rather take your money while you lie in filth. I was asked to leave because I wouldn't stand in line with the way things go at their hotel. Didju know smokers get sheets with worse stains than everyone else? Yuck. Most of the staff smoke, and I bet they don't sleep on cigarette-stained sheets at home. I have integrity and morals. I'm not going to stay eight years and pretend I'm doing a good job.

I got lucky finding this inexpensive, clean, accommodating place while driving from Georgia back to NY. Motels can be a gamble, but this one was great. If you're hauling anything, use the empty lot next door instead of the customer parking lot.

The price was very fair for the quality. It's clean, well maintained, and recently renovated, and American-owned. The staff were excellent, including Stan, and housekeeping did a great job. If I come back to Pittsburgh, this is the only hotel I'd stay at. 10/10!
