Best Western Clare Hotel

The room and everything else was tidy, and I had no issue with the service. My only gripe was the bill: $180 for one night felt a little steep.

Breakfast was good, and the staff were kind. But several rooms, including mine, had doors that sat crooked and left a huge gap in the frame. Even with my door shut, the photo and video I took from the hallway show how clearly someone could see into my room. I only caught it after I'd gotten my baby to sleep and turned off the lights. From bed, I could see a big band of light and straight into the hallway. That felt unsafe. I put my luggage against the gap for the night, but the doors need fixing. I was in room 110, and nearby doors had the same problem. Also, given the price was similar to nearby hotels with pools, it would've been nice to have a pool here, and more privacy.

I had a good stay and don't really understand the bad reviews. The room was clean and had that classic setup: a queen bed, chair, desk, mini fridge, and a decent sized TV. The bed was comfortable, though it's on the lowest hotel bed frame I've come across. I really liked the walk in shower, especially the high shower head, which made it comfortable for us taller folks. The soap dispenser barely worked, and hallway noise came through more than it should. I'd happily come back. I'd call it four and a half stars, rounded to a positive four.

The room was clean and nice, breakfast was good, and the desk staff were really friendly. After dark, though, finding the main drive was a pain. There's barely any lighting at the entrance from the main road, and it needs something to make it visible.
