Spark by Hilton Clarion

The staff are very friendly, but the housekeeping was awful. There was hair on everything, including long black hairs on all the towels and bedding. The tables had what I assume was spilled soda, and the stairwells were filthy, with spilled food and dirt across the floors. This isn’t what I expect from a property with Hilton’s name on it.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are on the small side but quiet. It’s a basic hotel, with no in-room coffee and a shower over the bathtub. Good value for a Hilton.

I loved the room itself. It was beautiful, but it stank of cigarette smoke even though this is supposed to be a smoke-free hotel. My husband and I quit smoking about two years ago, so the smell was unpleasant, especially for us. I didn’t want to bring it up at the front desk because the guy working there made me uncomfortable. He kept asking about my love life and whether my boyfriend was paying for the room, apparently trying to find out if I had a boyfriend. Every time we came downstairs, his eyes followed me. After he kept doing that, my HUSBAND found it very disrespectful. Breakfast was poor for the most expensive hotel in the area. If you’re avoiding carbs, don’t bother going down: they only had bagels and muffins. The juice tasted watered down, the coffee tasted burnt, and there wasn’t much variety. There was also a sign saying breakfast sandwiches cost extra, so I’m supposed to get complimentary breakfast but pay for the good stuff? Quality Inn is cheaper and has decent rooms, a pool, waffle batter and makers, eggs, bacon, ham, good yogurt, and good juice. This place needs to improve its staff, breakfast choices, and smoke-free standards. I loved the room, but that doesn’t make up for everything else. Go to the other Hilton or Quality Inn. I promise you’ll have a better experience.

Vic at the front desk made our homecoming feel special. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating, making our whole group feel welcome and looked after. He paid attention to what we needed and went above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly. Thanks, Vic. He really made us feel at home and made the stay so enjoyable.
