Motel 6 Denison, TX

The thin doors mean you can hear people through them pretty easily. Still, the staff were really friendly, and the rooms were clean. They set up coffee at the front desk each morning, and there are ice machines on every floor. Restaurants are close enough to walk to. The outside looked a little scuzzy, but it was a very good budget hotel.

I work in commercial pest control, so finding an adult German cockroach carrying an egg sack in my second-floor room was especially concerning. There was no active food or water source anywhere near it. Based on that lone bug, I believe there is significant German cockroach activity in the building. They reproduce and spread quickly if treatment isn't frequent enough. I was told the property only has monthly pest control, which won't address the problem often enough. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I've stayed here twice, and both visits went great. The property is well kept, and everyone on staff was kind and friendly, including the housekeepers. I was also happy I could bring my two small dogs along. I'd stay here again, and probably will.

The room looked recently remodeled, and I didn't see any bugs. The bed was okay, and IHOP nearby helped. Showers had low water pressure, though, and there wasn't much else to the stay. You get what you pay for. The company covered the room, which made it sting a little less.
