Hampton Inn Houston-Near The Galleria

The room was clean, the beds were good, and the location made it easy to reach the Galleria and highways. Breakfast was good, if not great, and the staff were super nice throughout. Overall I’d stay again, but there were some issues. My reserved room wasn’t available when I arrived. The staff apologized and found me another room, but I had to pay more for a lesser room, which didn’t seem fair since the mix-up was theirs. Parking was $35 a night for an uncovered gated area, with no free option. Hilton’s website said parking was $25. The shower sprayed what looked like rust or dirt for about 3 minutes before clearing. At least one ice machine was down, though there were others on different floors.

The pool was open and made for a really nice spot to relax. Our November 14-16, 2025 weekend was wonderful, with great rooms, comfortable beds, hot shower water, and no unpleasant smells in or around our room. Breakfast was always hot and really good. Candace at the front desk and the rest of the staff were fantastic, always checking whether we needed anything and being available to help. On the first day, someone from housekeeping came by right on time to see if we had everything we needed. I can't remember her name, but I was impressed by that. We had no complaints about the hotel itself. Traffic from the nearby connecting highways was the one drawback. When we visit Houston again, we'll stay here, and I'll ask for room 314.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the free breakfast was a nice perk. The building feels dated, though the lobby seemed in good shape; the room didn't. The location worked well for us, away from the Galleria traffic but still near everything we needed.

I'd stayed here before, but I won't be coming back after this experience. They added a parking charge for two nights after checkout, even though I never parked there, and nobody checked with us first about whether we had a vehicle. Manager Aurora was aggressive and rude, called us liars, wouldn't show any proof, and refused to discuss it with us. Avoid this hotel.
