We had a really good stay at the Travelers Hotel and would come back to Clarksdale and stay here again. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and updated, and the lobby was a nice place to relax. There’s parking across the street, and the self-serve beer tap with good local Brewery beers was a fun touch. Breakfast was simple with limited choices, but yogurt, granola, and fruit worked well for us. We only saw one staff member, and she was helpful. It seemed like we might have been the only guests that night, though it was a Wednesday in February with no events going on. A comfortable, no-nonsense boutique hotel.

The room was huge, with a comfortable queen bed and a separate sitting room with a pull-out couch. There were good towels and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. No TV, which I didn’t miss, and the coffee downstairs was good. I only wished for a bit more usable storage or counter space for toiletries, but a little side table nearby did the job. The building used to be a printing business, and the warehouse feel is still there: very high ceilings, exposed beams, lots of windows, and a big first-floor lounge with several seating areas, an honor bar, and a full kitchen and dining space guests can use. It’s right in walkable downtown Clarksdale, MS, with a large parking lot next door and across the street. Hooker Grocery is just around the corner for dinner, and Reds, Ground Zero, Bluesberry Cafe, Grandma's Pancakes, and other places are easy to reach on foot. We stayed two nights during an October blues festival and really loved it. I chatted with the owner and found out our kids went to the same university. The owner has also opened a local brewery, and I admire the effort to support Clarksdale's economy. We’d definitely stay here again if we return.

Travelers is the kind of place where you can draw a beer, settle in with a book, and have some privacy, while still enjoying a friendly shared atmosphere. The bar, the people, and the general vibe give it a real sense of community, but you can still lounge without interruption. It isn’t posh or fancy. It’s comfortable, humble, inviting, and quiet. The understated feel suits the proprietors and guests too. Everyone seems to be there to enjoy the day, the company around them, and a calm stretch of time away from the busy world. If I could carry one hotel on a credit card and swipe it to stay anywhere, Travelers would be my choice, with maybe an ice hotel in Finland as an exception for the novelty of the ice. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Jim

Right in the center of Clarkesdale, with music and food spots all within walking distance. The hotel has the feel of a coworking space mixed with a friend's coolest living room, plus an honesty bar and a full kitchen. I loved the books and interesting art.

Ann and Chuck made a point of welcoming our very large family, and you could tell they were happy to have us. We had all the comforts of home during our few days there: the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and more, and there was plenty of room for us. Everything was immaculate, and they were extremely accommodating. It was an excellent stay and made our family event more memorable. We’ll visit again.
