I prepaid online because we needed a nearby room during a family emergency. When we got there, the owner said they don't accept local residents, even though the place had no other guests. Why turn away a booking like that? And there were bed bugs.

At least it was quiet, but there were a lot of problems. The bathroom light only worked with a really loud fan, the shower handle was broken, and the room phone didn't work. The temperature stayed at 73 because I couldn't adjust the air conditioning or heat. I also saw bugs, and there weren't any nearby stores open late.

I felt safe staying here on my own, and the area was peaceful. This was my second visit, and both times my room was clean and roomy. The owners are so nice, too. They really add to the stay.

The staff are kind and welcoming, and it's always nice to see a friendly, familiar smile when I'm away from home. I've had a very pleasant stay each time. The hotel is clean and well maintained.

After the hurricane, lots of people had been displaced, and this was one of the few hotels around with rooms available. They were charging over $300 a night for rooms that usually go for about $65. I paid because I had to, but taking advantage of the situation was wrong, and I won't stay there again. I'd recommend the comfort inn down the street.
