Hampton Inn Cleveland-Downtown

The bed was clean and comfortable, and the morning coffee was pretty good. There was no bottled water in the room, and although I had a reservation, check-in still took almost 15 minutes. Getting on and off the highway was easy.

I booked a room in the evening, then learned the parking was off-site or valet and cost more than the booking company had budgeted. I asked the front desk woman to cancel, and she said it would be cancelled in the morning. I was within the cancellation policy, but when I called the next day to check, the booking showed that I had stayed there and not cancelled. That worried me because our company could have been charged for both this hotel and the one where I actually stayed, leaving me with the expense. The GM took my call after I was transferred and listened carefully. He was professional, receptive, and sorted it out without any trouble. Excellent service from the General Manager. Thanks for hearing me out and taking care of it. Jon Diamond Member

Downtown is an easy walk from here, with restaurants, shops, and Rocket Arena all under 15 minutes away. It's a good mid-level option if you're okay walking around. Parking is the hard part: valet is basically the only choice, and the three or four spaces out front for unloading were almost always occupied.

We stayed here for our team's event at huntington convention center, just a five-minute walk away. The hotel was great, with friendly, helpful front desk staff, plenty of breakfast choices, and a nice bar downstairs. Valet is convenient and the attendants were quick and nice, though $48 a day felt pricey. There are other parking options nearby if you'd rather use them. The hotel is right off the highway, so getting downtown was easy, and the rock and roll hall of fame is about a 15-minute walk. We'd stay again if we're back.
