It’s close to Wells Beach and only a short drive to Ogunquit. The place is very simple, but my little “apartment” had what I needed: a spotless room, comfortable bed, and kitchen with a microwave. There’s no stove or oven. The heater came on right away and ran quietly on frosty mornings. Although the hotel is on the main drag with quite a bit of traffic, you can’t hear it from the rings out back. The pool is clean and set away from the road, beside the high school’s playing field. The school was playing lacrosse while I read by the pool.

The pricing felt somewhat high, though summer is expensive everywhere in this area, so it was fair by comparison. Footbridge Beach Motel is about a five-minute walk from the beach, and the walk downtown takes around 20-30 minutes. That may be too far for some, but we enjoyed exploring on foot and getting our steps in. There’s also a trolley for anyone who doesn’t want to walk. The property has a tropical, beachy look that made us feel like we were in Florida instead of Maine, and the rooms were clean and recently updated. The owners were great and very accommodating. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend it.

The rooms were great, and whenever we needed something, Scott and Mark sorted it out super quickly. They were kind, courteous, and went out of their way to accommodate us at The Footbridge Motel. This was only our second stay, but the first was so good that we came back, and we’ll be back again.

The pool area and grounds are beautifully kept, and everything was clean. Mark and Scott were so welcoming and friendly, along with their sweet Golden retrievers. The location is really convenient for walking to the beach, and there are lots of local restaurants nearby. Don’t hesitate to stay at the Footbridge beach motel. We’ll definitely be back next year. We had a fabulous weekend at this motel and highly recommend it. The owners have gone above and beyond to make it comfortable and relaxing, with beautiful decorations inside and out. Each room is comfortable and has its own artwork. Shops and restaurants are centrally located nearby, and the beautiful beach is just a short walk away.
