Quality Inn Cleveland, MS

The problems started at check-in. Staff acted unprofessionally and repeatedly ignored my service requests. My room had no iron or ironing board, and the phone didn't work, so reaching the front desk was difficult. The toilet wouldn't flush properly. I asked for housekeeping, but when I returned that evening, the room hadn't been serviced and the toilet was still broken. The shower was dirty too. The breakfast wasn't ready on time, and the elevator malfunctioned several times, trapping guests. With cleanliness, facilities, and staff service all falling short, I can't recommend this hotel. My stay was unacceptable, and I won't return.

The breakfast ran out before everyone had a chance, and they wouldn't bring out more. The room even had mattress covers being used as blankets. The hotel is nasty, and staffing is terrible. Nobody was ever at the desk, and someone was always outside on the phone. Previous housekeepers left rooms dirty, didn't stock bathroom tissue, and didn't service the rooms. Annie and Heather did a great job when they came to service ours, though. They need more housekeepers like them.

The service and breakfast were good, but we had one room mix-up after another. We checked in and everything seemed normal until we unlocked our room and found it was already someone else's. Then we had to switch rooms four times. Even after finally getting a room, the key wouldn't work when we came back, and we had to get a replacement key about 15 times. That's ridiculous. Unless you really need somewhere to stay, I'd choose a nearby hotel instead. Just don't go to the Motel 6 next door.

At checkout, several guests waited for five to ten minutes before anyone came to the desk. The staff had gone to breakfast at another place. Breakfast here had no coffee either, and nobody had put up a sign to save us the trouble of trying the machine, which only gave out murky warm water. The room initially seemed okay, but there was only a thin coverlet and no blanket, the sheets didn't look clean, and the mattress was thin and uncomfortable. There was no luggage rack, and the ice machine didn't work. For the price, I'd maybe stay at the Motel 6 next door, or sleep in my car.
