Residence Inn By Marriott Cleveland Downtown

After a bad Airbnb night, having a comfortable, safe place in Cleveland made a huge difference to my trip. The room was large, and the staff were lovely. Asia at the front desk listened while I rambled about the Airbnb, then upgraded my room, gave me a discount, and found one that was ready so I could check in about an hour early.

The beds were comfy and breakfast was amazing. The Sales manager was kind and respectful while showing us around, including several rooms and their benefits. They had the best rooms for the money, and I couldn't have chosen a better place to host my business.

Our room was really spacious, and the location is terrific. The people at reception and in the dining hall were kind, helpful, and amazing. Still, after more than two weeks of positive stays at other Marriott hotels in several US states, this one was very disappointing for the price. I also don't feel that cleanliness is high on their list: the key access bathrooms on the second floor near the dining room were filthy, and some laundry machines were dirty too. I mentioned the machines when I went to ask for coins. On the second day of our three day stay, I asked reception to send housekeeping for the overflowing trash, a toilet that had repeatedly clogged on day one and needed two repair visits, fresh towels, liquid shower soap, and toilet paper. We didn't need the room cleaned or the beds made. They said our room was already on the cleaning list. A cleaner later knocked and asked me what we needed, then said she'd come back. When we returned around 7 p.m., nothing had been done. I called reception; they sent clean towels and someone took the trash, but said the crew had finished for the day so no cleaning could be done. We never got more liquid soap. We're usually very low maintenance, but this was an unusual situation.

The shower had incredible water pressure, easily the best I've had in a hotel, and the room was really comfortable. I picked this place because it's within walking distance of Hilarities Comedy Club and hadn't researched much beyond that, but it turned out to be a delightful stay. The hotel is beautiful, valet was efficient and easy, and everyone we met was kind and polite. The two ladies at the front desk Sunday morning (10/12/25) especially stood out. I loved their morning energy. It'll be hard for me to book somewhere else in the Cleveland area.
