The Orbit Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly, professional, and wonderful. My room was spacious and very clean, with a fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. If you want food to heat up, there’s a pantry in the lobby. The bathroom was roomy too, with plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and tissues. Vinyl flooring runs through both the room and bathroom, which seems better for keeping floors clean than carpet. I was there just one night, but I’ll remember the hotel for my next Cleveland visit. The Orbit used to be a NASA research lab and has been turned into a hotel with retro 60s decor. When you come in, there’s an astronaut cutout for photos and the breakfast room.

After a five-hour drive, we were so happy with our first stay at Orbit Hotel that we’ll return when we come back to Cleveland Clinic. The lobby was great, the room was the best I’ve seen at a Wyndham Hotel, and breakfast was good. The night receptionist wasn’t friendly and could have smiled while checking people in, but otherwise we had a great time. We also loved the NASA center.

If you’d like a quieter room, ask for the side of the building facing away from the airport. The staff are very friendly, breakfast is free, and the airport shuttle runs every 20 minutes. I’ll keep using this hotel for early flights from Cleveland. It’s an unusual spot on the far side of the Cleveland airport, next to the NASA facility. On my last day I learned the building used to be NASAA offices. The whole property has a mid-century modern feel, and it seems like two offices were converted into each oversized hotel room. It’s a nostalgic place to stay if you’re into history.

A nice change of pace for work travel. The hotel has its own style and decor, the beds are comfortable, the showers get hot, and breakfast tastes good. The coffee in the morning is especially good, and there’s a Keurig in the room. Being across from NASA and the airport also gives you something entertaining to watch.
