Tru By Hilton Cleveland Midtown

After the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks game, my brother, my son, and I got back late and found our key wouldn’t open the room. There was nobody at the desk for about 20 minutes. When someone finally came, I believe his name was John, he spent almost an hour trying to get us in and called several people for help. We still couldn't access the room. They moved us to another room for the night, but our things were stuck in the original one. We were told maintenance would fix the lock by 7:30 AM. Nobody let us know when it was ready, so I had to go downstairs and ask before we could get our belongings. The delay made me miss work. I asked for a refund or at least a discount. They said I would need to wait for management at 10 AM, which I couldn't do because I had to leave for work. They took my number and promised a call once management arrived, but nobody called. It was a terrible, frustrating stay. I won't return and can't recommend this hotel.

We’ve stayed at Tru by Hilton in several locations across completely different states, and they’ve consistently been clean and safe. The parking lots are plentiful, and the entrances are secured at night with a room key needed to get inside. Their breakfast selection beats what most hotels serving hot and cold food offer. The amenities are clean, updated, and really nice too. We love this chain, think it’s worth the price, and recommend it over almost any other hotel brand we’ve tried.

The room was clean and nothing fancy, and sitting by the fire pit after the concert was a nice touch. We came for a show at Rocket Arena in September. It was a quick drive there, though traffic was wild with a game and concert happening at once. For a reasonably priced one-night stay, I’d come back.

We had to switch rooms because the fridge in the first one didn’t work, but the rooms were clean and a good deal. Breakfast was decent, and we really enjoyed the fire pit at night. The lobby has some nice spots to relax, and the staff were friendly. It’s not fancy, but it worked well for what we needed.
