Quality Inn Clinton - Laurens I-26

I booked a handicapped room for two nights at the Quality Inn on 105 Trade Street in Clinton,SC, and it was a nightmare. The shower head had nowhere to hang, so water got all over the floor. I had to dry it with towels to avoid slipping. The sink only had scalding hot water, with no cold at all. And I couldn’t get into the room after FOUR tries. A staff member could only open it using a band around her wrist, and it wasn’t fixed until the next morning. They said no other rooms were available. When I told the manager at checkout, he said he’d look into it and get back to me. I never heard from him. I don’t think I should have been charged. I’ve stayed in accessible rooms at other hotels and never had anything like this. I will not stay there again. Handicap Beware!!! 👎👎👎👎👎

Prit is awesome and will work with you however he can. I’ve always had a great stay here, and the rooms have been clean with no problems. There are restaurants close by, and the hotel is right off 385.

I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels, including two recent stays that lasted days or weeks, and I’ve never been told to clear out all my things at 11 a.m. and check back in at 3 p.m. That was the manager’s rule here, even though the hotel was being renovated and had vacant rooms. I was moving from Greenville to Clinton and didn’t have permanent housing yet, so I needed a place to stay. The location was okay, the room had just been renovated, and there was a fitness room and laundry. Of the nearby hotels, this seemed like the best option. I booked through a third party on Nov 3. At check-in, I paid the required $3 service fee, which the booking site had disclosed, and no deposit was requested. The next morning, I renewed for another night. My fiance called to say management wanted us to leave and check back in later that day. Then the manager said I’d have to pay a $30 deposit, despite not needing one the previous night. I objected to the inconsistent rules and poor service and decided to go elsewhere, but the third party wouldn’t refund the booking, so I was stuck. I paid the deposit and service fee, then checked out the next morning. The manager knocked while I was loading the cart and acted as if he couldn’t understand me. Two weeks later, I still hadn’t gotten the deposit back. The woman who checked me in said he’d kept it for a “late checkout.” I might have been a few minutes late, but only minutes, and nobody explained this to me. The manager gave me no explanation or apology. Since I’d been told different things by two people on two different days, I should have been refunded. I showed him the charges, settlement dates, transaction IDs, and authorization codes after checking with my bank. The bank confirmed they charged another $90, reversed it, and gave me those details. The manager still told me to take it up with them. The $30 deposit was never refunded. I checked out early and chose another place. Because of this awful service, they lost at least a month of business from me. I’d rather sleep in my car than give them any more. If you stay, get every detail from them before paying. I found them dishonest and unfriendly to customers. I didn’t get any apology or explanation. Edited to add: Please don’t send me the standard reply you give everyone. People should get some form of compensation when they don’t receive what was promised. Empty words don’t help or make us feel seen.

The complimentary breakfast was just a waffle maker and toaster, with no eggs, bacon, potatoes, or other protein. The hotel itself was filthy and shabby, with broken furniture, a stained bathtub, no room phone, and an air conditioner so loud I couldn’t hear myself think. One of the dirtiest places I’ve stayed in years. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
