After a year at Residence Inn Clovis Fresno, we're still extending our stay month by month while my husband's construction project keeps changing its timeline. We originally expected to be here for 3-6 months. The staff have continued to greet us with kindness and professionalism, and they've made this feel like a home away from home rather than a hotel. Not everything has been perfect, and the team is sometimes lean, with people juggling several roles. Still, we've seen them work hard to make guests feel welcome, from sports teams, wedding parties and families to business travelers, construction crews, dogs and even a few cats. They remember names, celebrate milestones and sort out problems, all while handling their own family responsibilities, illnesses, pregnancies, car accidents and Central Valley summer heat. One of the moments we'll remember most was our anniversary in February. The team decorated our room with flowers, balloons and thoughtful touches, and it meant a lot after being away from family celebrations and holidays. When they named the two Christmas snowmen after us, we figured we'd become unofficial residents. Our snowman namesakes behaved better than we did when we accidentally evacuated part of the hotel while searing a steak during a 105-degree heatwave. We hope Carrie gets to tell that story at a comedy club back home in Orange County someday, and that Cassandra's lovely smile is still at the front desk at 6 AM. So many people made our stay comfortable: Felicia and the breakfast team, who came in very early so Jim and the other early workers could have coffee; Karina, Le and the housekeeping team, who kept our room spotless, including one more paper towel when we asked; Kendra and the front desk team; and Danny, our maintenance hero. Patricia, Director of Sales, and Chelsea, General Manager, also supported us throughout our stay. They do more than their jobs. Thank you all for making this unexpected year away easier and fun. We appreciate you, and we'll miss the Residence Inn Clovis Fresno team when we leave. The hotel has spacious rooms and suites, amenities, free full breakfast, a fitness center, laundry facilities and a large parking lot. We'd recommend it to anyone looking in the Fresno/Clovis area. After a whole year, we still get the same warm welcome we got on our first day, and we've never felt like just another room number. Thank you for making our stay feel like a community.
