TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lake Jackson Clute

DJ at the front desk was fantastic, knew her stuff, and was great at her job. The room was clean and the bed really comfortable. The hotel needs work, though there’s a sign saying renovations are coming soon. Breakfast was the one real letdown. It was awful, even the orange juice tasted bad, so I had to get breakfast somewhere else.

For a Marriott, this place feels a bit rough. The elevator only works from the first floor, and in Room 203 the toilet keeps running unless you jiggle the handle after a couple of minutes. The door won’t lock unless you slam it shut.

I came into town for my birthday week and was quoted $310 for two nights, then another $285 for just one night. The place was poorly run and the staff seemed unsure what they were doing. The AC barely got cold, and I never got my supposed deposit back. The staff were poorly mannered too. 1/10.

Mrs Chyrelle/ Shay/ Kelby went out of their way to make my daughter’s 13th birthday stay great. We’re from the area, and she really wanted a hotel with a pool. The staff were friendly on the phone and just as friendly in person. Our room was clean and roomy, with a kitchenette, dining area, two beds plus a sofa bed, two TVs, a stove, refrigerator, pots, pans, plates, and bowls. I can’t say enough about how well it went, and even the kids praised the service. We’ll surely be back.
