Ramada by Wyndham Cocoa

The new walk-in shower had full-size brown sugar and fig soap, shampoo, and conditioner, which was a nice touch. My upstairs king room had recently been redone, and it felt clean and fresh, with a new, comfortable bed. The microwave was spotless, the refrigerator was clean, and the bedding and towels were soft and clean. Construction at the gas station next door ran from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. My only other gripe was the four standard pillows. I’d have liked six for the support I need. This was my second stay, and I’d come back.

The service and location were fine, but the room was disgusting. I sprayed disinfectant like crazy. I’d only booked one night before our cruise and didn’t want to search for somewhere else when we arrived. I took photos as soon as I put my things down and showed them to the receptionist. He said they knew about the damage and that I wouldn’t be charged for it. The pictures look better than the room did in person. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you have no other choice. At $145 a night through booking.com, and an even higher price at the counter, it wasn’t worth it. The next night was listed at $199, which was laughable. Before the pandemic inflation, I’d say it might have been worth $50-$60 a night. I guess they can charge more because it’s in the Coco Beach area.

We needed somewhere easy and safe to sleep for a night on an unplanned trip, and this Ramada did the job. The building is old and a bit worn, though our room was clean and the beds were reasonably comfortable. The bathroom was disappointing: there was nowhere to hang towels or clothes, and the water never got even a little hot.

There were plenty of free parking spaces and lots of lights outside, and the location was convenient. The curtains didn’t keep the outdoor lights out, but the room was adequate for what we needed. Having a fridge and microwave was handy, and breakfast was included.
