TownePlace Suites College Park

The staff are super nice, and check-in was quick and easy. The location is convenient, close to everything, though the hotel sits on a busy street with a one-way turn. It’s a great place to stay, especially if you want the option to cook your own food and still get free breakfast.

Getting around was easy, with quick access to I-95 and 495, plus college, shopping, and places to eat nearby. Check-in was a breeze, and the front desk staff and manager were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, breakfast was nice, and underground parking was plentiful at $10 per night. You can bring pets inside and outside. The TVs and remotes could use an update.

I’m very upset about this stay. I fell on ice in the parking lot and hurt my knee. I told the front desk, but salt still hadn’t been put down. I asked for a manager and was told several times that none was on site. Nobody has contacted me. The TV in room 220 keeps turning on and off, and the Wi-Fi there didn’t work, so I couldn’t get any work done. When I complained, I was given a number that nobody answered. The staff, especially at the front desk, were good, and I’m not blaming them. But for the price of a two-day stay, I expected the basic things that were promised. I wish I’d had time to get a refund and find another hotel.

Finding the entrance to TownePlace Suites can be tricky if you aren’t watching for it, but once inside, the two full levels of underground parking were a welcome surprise. The location made it easy to get around College Park. I also slept well on a genuinely comfortable bed, and the staff I met were warm and upbeat. Free breakfast made mornings simple. A comfortable stay with a few quirks that stuck in my mind.
