Days Inn by Wyndham College Station University Drive

I paid $516 for two nights while I was in town for the A&M football game, so I expected prices to be high. I still expected a clean, decent room like the pictures online. Instead, the website photos were very misleading and the property was poorly maintained. The tan or white couch was covered in black stains, there were wall stains and cracks in the shower, and the smoke detector was missing. I saw two cockroaches within minutes of entering. I considered putting up with it since I’d already paid, but my gut said otherwise. I contacted Booking.com for help. They tried to assist, but the hotel’s front desk staff weren’t cooperative. The person there seemed annoyed and frustrated, so I chose not to take it further. This was my first time at a Days Inn, and a disappointing one. I wasn’t looking for five-star treatment, just a clean, maintained room and respectful service. Days Inn should understand that customers’ time matters too.

The staff were outstanding, friendly and helpful as they looked for a room that didn’t smell like my great grandfather’s ashtray. But the rooms were so nasty I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, or even let my dog stay there. It needs to be leveled and rebuilt. If I’d had any other option, I would’ve gladly paid even twice the nearly $300 it cost me to stay here. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The beds were pretty comfortable, and the shower was very nice. But there were several problems. Both key cards were unreliable: one worked about half the time and the other not at all. We finally got a working key the next morning. The TV only picked up one station. We asked for help, but the desk said the technician had gone home and we were out of luck. They offered to move us, but my husband declined. Around noon on our first full day, a technician fixed the TV and we got a new remote. The outlet by the bathroom vanity didn’t work either, so I had to plug in farther away.

A quiet, welcoming place for a good night’s rest. The staff were friendly, breakfast came with the stay, and everything was within walking or driving distance.
