I posted this by accident on the hotel next door and am correcting it. After three long visits to Martinsville, VA, I'd say the Hampton is the best hotel there. The quality has stayed consistent, breakfast is acceptable, and the people are friendly. It's pricey for the area, but I'd pay a little extra to stay here. Most of the other guests we've seen were business types; on all those visits, we noticed just one person who seemed shady, dressed like he was hiding from the law. The reviews for the other places around here are entertaining, if you want to read them.

The hotel has a new, upscale feel, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were really friendly, and breakfast was great. I had no complaints about my stay at Hampton Inn Martinsville.

I was five days post-surgery and hoping to nap before the last 3.5-hour stretch home. My Hilton app showed a Saturday noon checkout, but shortly after 10am a staff member knocked to ask when I'd be leaving. I was startled and confused, and told them I'd check out then since they'd woken me. At the desk, I was told this was their policy: they start knocking at 10am to find out who's already gone because people forget to check out.

We were exhausted from traveling, and it was late, so this was incredibly inconvenient. I decided not to stay after finding hair and what looked like dried blood on the bedding in a second room on another floor. The first room's sheet also had hair on it, which is why I asked to move. This was on 11/24/25, and no one has contacted me.

We were here for a business trip. The hotel was pleasant, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast was okay. That's what matters on a trip like that.
