Continental Inn Charlotte

The neighborhood has gone downhill badly, but we didn't run into any problems, even with the noise. The owner was friendly and accommodating, so I'd book here again.

Everything worked as it should, and the place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I saw no sign of bugs. Some surfaces are showing their age, and while my non-smoking room had no smoke smell, the Febreze or cleaning products were a bit strong. It was very quiet on Tuesday night, with the lot about half full. I'd recommend it.

The towels were the one thing I'd change. The body towels were tiny, barely covering half of me, though it wasn't a major issue. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and checkout, and the free breakfast was good. The hotel is a convenient 12-15 minute drive from downtown. I'd read plenty of bad reviews before booking, mentioning noise at 2am and drug dealers in the parking lot, but none of that happened during my stay. It's not the best neighborhood in Charlotte, but at $60 a night, I think it's worth keeping expectations realistic. Maybe I was just lucky, but I had a great experience and would recommend it to friends.

The parking lot was a bit messy, but the front desk man was very nice. It's a small, clean, friendly place, and I liked having bare floors instead of carpet. The room had a spotless microwave, mini coffee maker, tall mini fridge, table, dresser, bedside table, and all the bathroom basics.
