Days Inn Charlotte North-Speedway-UNCC-Research Pa

I checked in easily, and everything else was OK. The hotel was clean, and the room seemed cleaner than others in the area. The toiletries weren’t very effective, though they did supply shampoo, conditioner, and soap. But I don’t like roaches, so if you don’t either, don’t come here. I saw 3 to 4 baby roaches running on the carpet and table, packed up, and left immediately. You won’t find my name because I use an online alias, but I was there last night. An African American person checked me in, and a Caucasian person took the roach from me. Be upfront about an infestation. We could carry a creature onto a plane or back home. God bless.

The one bright spot was the front desk night manager. She was very nice and accommodating. We were upgraded to a suite after being given a key to a non-smoking room that smelled like an ashtray. But the suite was nasty: mold, leaky faucets, filthy floors with mud and dirt, dead bugs, cracked tiles, and holes in the walls. This place is listed under Choice Hotels, which makes me sad. After this experience, I don’t hold the group to the same high standards I used to. The only choice I’d make here is to find another hotel.

The location right off the highway was good, and the room was simple but definitely clean. The bed could’ve been a bit softer, though maybe I’m just spoiled by my own bed 😂. I didn’t interact much with the staff, but they seemed nice. The lobby was still closed off, so we could only talk through a window.

I was in town because of a sick family member, then returned a few days later for the funeral. We stayed several nights across a couple of different rooms. The rooms were very clean, most of the front desk staff were friendly, and housekeeping was very friendly and did an excellent job.
