Hampton Inn & Suites Colorado Springs/I-25 South

The pool and hot tub were nice, breakfast was included and delicious, and there are plenty of nearby places to eat. The staff were very friendly, too. They did fail to mention that a water pipe was being repaired and the water would be temporarily shut off. When we asked, the man insisted he'd told us, though nobody in my group who was there remembers hearing that. It wasn't a huge deal, but it should have been mentioned. The bigger downside was the TVs. HDMI is disabled, so you can't connect your own device, like a Roku, Firestick, or Switch. That really takes away from the value if you planned to use your own gear. The hotel isn't luxurious, but for our event the price and value were good overall.

The staff are incredible, and the breakfast has lots of choices. Traveling with kids, we really appreciated the food options and the coffee, decaf, tea, and hot chocolate available in the lobby all day and night. The mountain view was awesome, too. Room service comes every other day by default, but you can ask for it more or less often, which is nice. Construction is underway, though the staff are accommodating and understanding. There was no noise early in the morning or in the evening, which mattered a lot to us. It made the stay worth it, even though the work affected the rating for now. Our room had a mini fridge, microwave, plenty of counter space, a small table, and two chairs. Storage was more limited than at other Hilton, Hampton, or Embassy hotels we've stayed in. With kids, we like everyone to have a drawer, but there was really just one. There's one bedside cabinet, and another on the other side would help. There's no proper closet, just a little nook that didn't quite fit our suitcases, so the room felt a bit cramped. Nothing major, but worth knowing if you're bringing more than one bag. The tub faucet was tricky and leaked unless we turned it off and on a few times. I only mention it because I saw it in other reviews too. It seems like the place is in a transition period, so being aware of that made it no big deal.

The rooms were very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was complimentary and had a good selection. The location is great, especially if you're going to Ft Carson.

Management, especially Jennifer Kamberis, went above and beyond to help me sort things out. My initial problem was with trivago, and not the Hampton Inn and suites itself. Jennifer helped me navigate those issues, and the hotel made things right. The management here is good, and I'd encourage people to stay. I had originally booked a 3 pm check-in, but at 6 pm I was told the rooms weren't ready because of scheduling conflicts with the cleaners. I finally got into a room around 10 pm, losing seven hours from the time I'd paid for between 3 pm and 11 am. I was disappointed and hoped the company would compensate us for the scheduling error. I happened to book through a company that wasn't good, so my takeaway is not to use trivago, but please do stay at the Hampton Inn.
