There are about 16 or 17 of us in our little family group, and we’ve been coming to the Ranch for years. It has that summer camp atmosphere I love, with a sense of privacy too. The staff are a blast, the meals are always tasty, and there are plenty of snacks. You can also get a drink from the full bar whenever you want.

We spent our days hiking, fishing, riding horses, trying archery and enjoying the outdoors. The cabins are lovely log places, with updated bathrooms and fireplaces. Our mattress was awful. The staff tried hard to make it more comfortable, but it really needed replacing. The food was five star at every meal, and the upbeat staff were helpful. At more than 8,000 feet, it was at least 10 degrees cooler, with very chilly nights. Everyone gathered around the big fire pit in the evening. Getting there means a bumpy dirt road, and you can’t drive your own car up, they transport you.

This was my first time at EVR, after roughly half a dozen stays at the Broadmoor and Cloud Camp. It’s a mountain retreat with first class service and lots of staff for the number of guests. The grounds are spacious enough to spend time with friends or find a quiet spot to read among the mountain forest views.

The photos don’t capture how beautiful it is here. We loved the service, food, and cocktails. Highly recommend it. And Fritz the horse deserves a shout-out, he’s an angel.

We loved our first visit to Emerald Valley. The rustic style, elegance, and fresh mountain air were just what we wanted, and the stay went beyond what we expected. Our cabin was cozy and comfortable. There’s plenty to do. We had a great time horseback riding, hiking the beautiful pipeline trail, and learning to fly fish with JP. The food was amazing, especially the cowboy cookout, brisket, and fried chicken. Drinks are unlimited, and the staff pay close attention to what guests want. Joey, the manager while we were there, was friendly, knowledgeable about the camp and its hikes and amenities, and very attentive. Amber served us most evenings and was hilarious, so make sure you get to know her. Zoe makes great drinks at the bar, and Jakob was wonderful, helping with our needs even before we arrived. We gave it four stars because, for the price, we didn’t expect young children to be there. It’s family friendly and welcomes all ages, but a two year old nearby made some of our meals less enjoyable. Knowing that ahead of time should help.
