Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Columbia Univ Area-Hwy 63 by IHG

Jacob gave some of the best customer service I’ve come across, in any line of work. I’ve stayed at IHG hotels from New York City to Phoenix, AZ, and this one ranks in my top 10. The rooms felt spacious, clean, and welcoming. The pool room was a 10/10, though the hot tub jets weren’t working. I’ll stay here on my Jefferson City and Columbia trips.

I’m a frequent Holiday Inn guest and usually stay in their suites, but this place was a complete mess. We were there for three nights, and the rooms weren’t cleaned. Before leaving at 10 a.m. on the third day, my wife and I both asked the front desk to make sure ours got cleaned. We came back at 7 p.m. and it still hadn’t been done. I have pictures showing that. I wouldn’t come back to this Holiday Inn. And yes, I expect you’ll defend the hotel because that’s your job and you could be fired otherwise. I understand that, but don’t lie about what happened.

The location was great for our swim meet, with Mizzou so close, and we’ll stay here again for the clean rooms, helpful staff, and service. Our room was huge, including the high ceilings. It was missing sheets for the pullout bed, so I asked at the lobby. An employee said he was nearly off shift and would get them. Then several guests arrived to check in, including one unhappy guest with an issue. The employee handled it patiently and respectfully, going out of his way to resolve it. He brought the sheets afterward and apologized for the wait. We were up too late for breakfast, but it smelled amazing.

Our group had already left when a delayed package arrived at the hotel. Jacob and the team got a new label onto it and sent it ahead to our next stop, and they contacted us before FedEx had even let us know. They really went out of their way to help. Huge thanks to Jacob!
