Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbia-Fort Jackson by IHG

I had surgery and was having trouble walking, and the whole staff stepped in to help. They brought me a wheelchair and even helped me get to my room. Andrina, Julia, Tasha, Khadijah, and the manager, Mr. Philip, were all wonderful with anything I needed. They treated me like family and made the stay feel like a home away from home. My room was incredibly clean, and housekeeping clearly did a great job. Thank you all, best stay ever.

We’ll definitely stay here again. The beds were really comfortable, the linens were excellent, and the front desk staff were nice. Breakfast was surprisingly good, and the restaurant was clean. The hotel is easy to reach from the interstate, with a straight drive to downtown newberry. We went to the opera house that evening, about a 10-15 minute ride away.

The room was generally okay, and the HVAC unit was awesome. I wish every hotel had one that nice. The staff were polite and the location was convenient, but some amenities weren’t working, which made it harder than expected to get work done. A key card was also needed to use the restroom because vagrants had been using the one on the lobby’s first floor, which wasn’t convenient. The bunk bed setup could work well for families, but the mattresses seemed worn. A few room details needed cleaning or updating. Honestly, everything could use attention. The hotel wasn’t a terrible stay, and we did walk away alive, but I’d check ahead to see whether what you need is working. With a lot of improvements, it could be much better.

The pool was closed, which was a real letdown since it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Still, the visit was nice. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was included with plenty to choose from.
