voco The Tiger Hotel Columbia, MO by IHG

The rooms are fairly basic, but that's fine when the location is this good. The staff made the biggest impression on me, going out of their way for us several times without even being asked, and they were so nice. It's a cute little boutique hotel, and you can tell the location is a big part of what you're paying for.

Downtown is a great spot and the rooms were nice. I liked the bar too, but service really slowed down with just one bartender/waiter covering the whole place. Even with eight people, it took a while. That's a staffing plan issue for hotel management, not a knock on the server.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and fantastic. The downtown location puts restaurants and shops nearby, and the university is close too. Rooms are large and very clean, with spacious bathrooms, soaking tubs, big showers, and great views. We'd happily recommend this hotel to friends and family. 02/18/2026

The lobby, bars, and shared spaces have a cool look, and I enjoyed the cocktail bar. My room felt dated in places, though it had some nice features like electric blinds, good linens, and a Toto bathroom fixture. The bathroom decor, including a cheap wall print, wallpaper, and old ceramic tile, took away from the room's feel. There were a few odd touches too: a beige rubber mat rolled up in shrink wrap, and nicer bathroom glasses also shrink-wrapped with a note saying you'd be charged if you took them. That felt over the top; a small-print note would do. The room was quite small for two queen beds, despite a description I'd read saying the rooms were spacious. It's an unusual property and made me wonder if IHG has figured out its boutique tier. To me, the best boutique hotels feel distinctive and well finished, with an expensive look but without luxury-level service or details. This didn't quite get there. It's a cool building in a great location, just expect a standard room rather than a really nice boutique hotel.
