SpringHill Suites Columbia near Fort Jackson

My husband and I stopped here on New Year’s Eve during a road trip from Florida to West VA. to care for a sick family member. It was a short visit, but we’d definitely stay again and highly recommend it. The staff were friendly and accommodating from check-in to check-out. The room was clean, a good size, and quiet, with comfortable beds, light blocking shades, and a bathroom larger than in most hotels. The free hot breakfast was a nice addition.

The hotel is close to Fort Jackson Base and was truly accommodating for all ages. We booked for Army Graduation and had a great stay, even though it was brief. Breakfast was hot and ready early each morning, and in the afternoons they put out snacks, a nice touch that our young children especially loved. The staff were always kind. At checkout, my daughter left her phone behind. We were already at NC Airport when Hannah at the front desk went straight to the room, found it, and handed it to Malaysia, the Manager. Malaysia was kind and quick to coordinate sending it back, and it arrived safely wrapped. I really appreciate the staff for making this important trip easy and stress-free.

I don’t think I’ll return because of the noise, despite how nice the hotel is. The room was modern, very clean, and spacious, with comfortable beds. Staff were friendly, and I liked having a mini fridge and microwave. But on Saturday night, from my second-floor room at the front of the building, I could hear loud music with heavy bass nonstop at 4:30 a.m. I couldn’t tell if it came from the next room or the parking lot, and I got no sleep. If I stayed again, I’d ask for a top-floor room.

We’d already had three days of driving before arriving for our son’s boot camp graduation, and left in a rush after a great breakfast. I forgot something in the excitement. I’d give the service a 10 if I could. The blanket wasn’t easy to find, and it took work to box it up and return it. During a very busy holiday season, the staff followed up after my call and put in the effort to locate it, communicate with me, and send it back, even though it may not have seemed worth the trouble. It meant a lot. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a great stay. The room was clean, and we loved its layout and comfort.
