The Urban

The micro room had what we needed for a quick city getaway: a Murphy bed, kitchenette, and smart TV. We also had access to shared full kitchens, an open-air gym, game tables, and yard games. The hot tub was roomy, though it could use a cleaning. Free Jeni's ice cream and the lobby coffee choices were delicious. We came for Pride, and unlike most of the few other hotels we considered, this one hadn’t raised its rates. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and garage parking was free. I’d recommend it for a solo traveler or a couple looking for a city break.

The room was smaller than I expected, but it had the essentials: a Murphy bed, small table and chair, microwave, full-size fridge and freezer, stand-up shower, and toilet. I could sign into my streaming accounts on the TV or watch live TV. All the amenities were included, and after a quick check-in I parked my rental car in the underground garage on P3 and went up to room 628. My airline put me up at The Urban after I had a few problems trying to fly home to Las Vegas, NV. I arrived August 4, 2024 at 9 pm and checked out August 5, 2024 at 4 pm. At check-in, the agent explained that The Urban is an apartment complex with one entire floor of hotel rooms. They also told me the stay included a public kitchen, Exercise Courtyard, Fitness Room, underground parking, bike rentals, a shared area for working or lounging, a public balcony, and a rooftop patio. I’d recommend The Urban to anyone after a clean, reasonably priced hotel in the OSU / Columbus area. Walking distances: Ohio Stadium, 0.6 mile; St John Arena, 0.5 mile; Schottenstein Stadium, 0.7 mile.

Stayed for a week and the rooms were immaculate, very clean, and still looked new. Free coffee downstairs and off-street parking were nice. I recommend this place.

The rooms were super clean, and the area is close to pretty much anything you need. It’s reasonably priced and I’d recommend it to a friend. The one downside is that there’s only one elevator.
