The front desk team and breakfast attendants were warm and welcoming to me, my partner, and our dog from the moment we arrived. They handled a difficult situation with patience and professionalism, and I’d gladly stay here again because of them. The women in the room next to ours later posted a review saying we’d been “screaming through the walls” and questioning a smoking charge. What we experienced was the opposite: this is a non-smoking hotel, but weed smoke came into our room and filled the hallway. We didn’t want our dog around it. The same guests scratched at the side door connected to our room and tried to open it, barked back at our distressed dog, and kept causing disruptions. Yes, we yelled through the wall for them to cut it out. I don’t blame the staff for enforcing the hotel’s rules. They acted appropriately to keep the place safe and pleasant for everyone. The $500 fine and room change were consequences of those guests’ choices. If you want to smoke, go outside or to your car, and if you can’t behave, don’t stay in a hotel.

The breakfast itself was amazing, but the way it was handled left us disappointed. My fiancé had to leave early for work in the freezing weather, and the breakfast was covered with hotel towels until 6:30 AM. He’d been going down early because his coworkers and boss were already heading out, but ended up rushing out with a breakfast sandwich. When I saw it myself, I understood why he felt unwelcome. At his previous hotel, which I think was the Hilton here in town, they made little bags for people who couldn’t wait around for the food to be uncovered. There were other problems too. The pool was under construction, the washer and dryer weren’t working, and there was no discount even though guests couldn’t use several things advertised on the location’s website. We paid 350 plus another 50 for the deposit, which felt pricey for that. The main lobby ceiling beside the breakfast station was leaking into buckets and towels, and there wasn’t even a wet floor sign, so be careful not to slip. I know hotels have policies, but I didn’t expect this.

Breakfast was the usual spread, with waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels, toast, eggs, sausage, and yogurt. The front desk staff were pleasant and made sure our requests were taken care of. The hotel is being upgraded, so the rooms should improve; we noted a few things that needed attention. We’d stay here again when traveling this way.

As a trucker on the road, I had some dirty clothes to wash, but the guest washer was out of order. That was my only complaint. The place was very clean and laid out well, the employees were extremely polite, and room service left us alone unless we asked. Breakfast was pretty decent too.
