TownePlace Suites by Marriott Conroe

Omar greeted me when I arrived, and it was the most welcoming hotel greeting I’ve ever had. He was such a pleasure that I can’t say enough good things about him. I’d come back just because of him. The whole place was immaculate and smelled clean, and the kitchen in our double-bed room was better stocked than I expected. I liked the room layout and that ours was at the end of the hallway, away from the others, though I don’t know if all double-bed rooms are like that. There was also a handy shoe cabinet by the entrance. The beds were comfortable enough, and I woke up without aches or pains. The shower pressure was great, and the lavender and eucalyptus hair and body products smelled lovely. We had a great stay, just wish the trip hadn’t been such a whirlwind so we could enjoy it longer. I’d definitely stay here again in Conroe.

The room was clean and very spacious, and the location was handy, right off the freeway with restaurants and a shopping center nearby. It’s also close to Conroe Regional Hospital, which I believe is now called HCA Regional. At check-in they gave us complimentary bottled water. The kitchen had a full-size refrigerator, electric stovetop, Keurig, and dish soap and a Scrub Mommy for washing dishes. I think there was a dishwasher as well. An iron, ironing board, and hair dryer were provided. My main issue was the low beds in our accessible room. My mom is almost 80 and had a hard time getting up, and even I struggled. Otherwise, I had a nice stay.

The staff were great, breakfast was tasty, and everything was clean. The shower got nice and hot, and the shampoo and conditioner were good quality. The sofa bed wasn’t what we expected, but luckily it was for our 13-year-old, not an adult. She’s 5 feet tall, about the same length as the bed, but she slept well.

There was lots to choose from at breakfast, and the coffee was hot even before breakfast started, which helped with our early 5 a.m. flight. The gym had free weights and cardio equipment, the shower had hot water, and everything was very clean. Rooms were roomy, though the bed was just okay and, as in every hotel we stay at, the pillows went flat. Staff were friendly and helpful, the elevators were quick, and the place felt pretty safe. The hotel has a strong scent as soon as you walk in. I’d rather smell something pleasant than something bad, but this was stronger than it needed to be. It’s a great hotel and I’d stay again. It’s just outside town, but still convenient for restaurants and getting to Montgomery, TX. Probably one of the best in the area.
