Comfort Inn & Suites Coralville - Iowa City near Iowa River Landing

We were in town for my daughter's swim meet, and booking directly with the hotel worked out well. They kindly let us check in three hours early, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a budget-friendly place with basic room maintenance, but it met our needs for the weekend. Thank you!

The air conditioner filters were clean, which you don't often see at motels like this. The rooms were clean, the price was great, and they had an amazing continental breakfast.

We were in town unexpectedly to see a family member in the hospital, and when I called to reserve, I was transferred to an associated service that tried to sell me a travel package in a timeshare style pitch. I politely declined three times, then hung up. We won't be back. When we arrived late, check-in was quick and the staff member was polite and efficient. The room, though, was a different story: stains, paint spots, worn fixtures, and what looked like mold on the bathroom ceiling. The view was unforgettable, like a chic penitentiary. The reception and breakfast area were clean and polished, so I wish that care had extended to the rooms.

For the price, I expected a rundown hotel, but this place was as good as a Marriott and better than some Comfort Inns we've stayed in. I'd put it at 3.5 stars. The place was very clean, and the staff, especially Meet, were respectful and helpful. The beds are queen sized, wider than doubles. Breakfast was excellent, and the waffle station even had fruit compote. It's great value, and if you're on business in cedar rapids, it's worth the extra 20-minute drive to stay here. I highly recommend it.
