Comfort Inn & Suites Near Lake Lewisville

The location was the most convenient part of my stay in room 302. I used to be a GM in hospitality, so these are things the hotel should address. The pullout linens were dirty, and the mattress was so worn that I couldn't sleep on it. I ended up on the couch instead, though at $321 everyone in our party should have been comfortable. The TV setup needs both a universal remote and the one that comes with the television. On a major holiday and football weekend, the vending machines and every ice machine should have been working with some planning. The tub drained slowly, its faucet wouldn't shut off all the way, and the hot water was unreliable.

The staff were really friendly, and the shower had strong pressure with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was included and turned out to be a nice surprise: cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, and biscuits with gravy, which saved us two meals. My wife and I got exactly what we needed for the price, and the bed was so comfortable I slept like I was late for the school bus again. I'd recommend it.

The sheets had stains tucked under the top sheet, and I found an old washcloth hanging between the shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom also had a roach, cold-only water in the shower, and a drain that left water pooling. I couldn't tell whether the incidental authorization hold was released properly or whether any extra charges appeared afterward. The vending machines were out of order, which added frustration after my delayed flight brought me in around 1 a.m. The desk staff were polite, but the late check-in felt so casual that I would've appreciated a more thoughtful response, such as waiving a night because of the disruption. I also saw little to no housekeeping between check-in and checkout, and the room wasn't properly cleaned and refreshed each day. This was a complete letdown and my first truly poor hotel stay. The odor management, cleanliness, plumbing, and housekeeping all fell short of what I expect from a Comfort Inn property. If you care about clean, safe, comfortable accommodations, look elsewhere nearby. The place needs better pest control, more consistent housekeeping, reliable plumbing, and a more professional way of handling guest disruptions and billing.

The pool area online looked bright and clean, with a hot tub. What I found was a lukewarm tub with green water. Service from the staff we met was pretty good, and there are food options just a short walk away. I did find a hair on a washcloth.
