Comfort Suites Corpus Christi Central

The staff were wonderful and helpful, and this was one of the better Comfort Suites I've stayed in. Most of the room looked much cleaner. I did spot one water bug after the rain, but that wasn't enough to ruin the stay. Breakfast was the weak point: the juice tasted watered down, the eggs were cold, and the waffle hadn't cooked through. Still, it was a good stay overall.

The area felt a little questionable, though the mall and restaurants in the busier part of town weren't far. I stayed twice in one week. The second room was spotless, while the first was a bit less clean. Both times the bed was comfortable, and the sheets and towels were clean. Breakfast was decent, and I didn't see roaches or anything gross.

The room was spacious and nicely appointed, and check-in was quick and smooth thanks to the professional young man at the desk. Breakfast was decent too. But I had the same strong, unpleasant smell in the upper first-floor hallways and guest room that I noticed on my last visit. There was a Glade air warmer in the room, apparently to cover it, but its bottle was empty when I arrived. The replacement the desk gave me helped quite a bit, though it's concerning that the scent was needed at all. I reported the broken glass shower door on my first night. The attendant said he'd tell maintenance the next day, but nobody came during my three-night stay, so I was stuck with it the whole time. The pool was filthy as well, which was a major letdown since I'd hoped to use it. On my last morning, the fire alarms went off around 6 or 7 AM. I gave Comfort Suites Corpus Christi Central a second chance hoping for a better visit, but the unresolved repairs, dirty pool, and lingering odor left me disappointed again.

The rooms were roomy and nice, the rates were affordable, and the location worked well for our event. Still, both rooms had shower floors that looked dirty, with stains that might come off with some serious scrubbing. The bathroom floors were so grimy they stained our socks. Once that happened, I stopped trusting that the rest of the room was clean.
