If you're looking to relax, this place is a good fit. It doesn't feel like a stuffy hotel, and there's plenty to do or eat within a short walk if you don't want to drive. More things are within a half-hour drive. I’m picky, and this was the best deal in the area for me: a hotel would cost more and give you less. Our family or couple getaway wouldn't have been as good anywhere else. Just book it and thank me later.
It's a nice getaway. The beaches near Shelley are more pebbly than sandy, but the water is nicer than at Galveston. Watch out for the many jellyfish at Thomas.
Swimming at the beaches is nice, though the water can be pretty murky at times. The USS LEXINGTON is here too, and it's a lot of fun.
The unit we stayed in was nice and clean, and the pool seemed safe for little kids. They really need to change the elevator, though. Construction was happening on our neighbor's balcony, and the worker made a mess on ours, so we couldn't use it. I wasn't happy about that.
John put my family's happiness first when our last-minute Corpus Christi beach trip looked likely to be a washout. The day before we were due to leave, he contacted me about the unfavorable weather. After we messaged back and forth, he said it looked like rain all weekend. My young children were excited for their first beach trip and would have been heartbroken to be so close and not get to play there. John offered a full refund because of the weather. I'm so grateful. He could have kept the money, but instead spared my family a lot of tears. The customer service was top tier, and we'll book with him when we can visit Corpus Christi. I highly recommend them.
