Corvallis Budget Inn

The front desk clerk seemed friendly, which was about the only good part of the stay. We paid $110-$120 for an unpleasant night, and the beds were uncomfortable enough to leave my back sore when I needed rest from a long stretch of driving. The chairs were filthy with dirt and what looked like oil stains, and stains glistened on the wall in the TV light. The bathtub had a large ring inside, the shower curtain had a lot of pink mold or mildew along the bottom, and the towels had yellow marks. We had three adults and two kids but only one room key. No one told us the hot and cold taps were reversed, so it took me a while to figure that out when bathing my son.

The room was clean and the location worked well for us. It was quiet when the rooms on either side were empty or their occupants weren’t watching TV. Otherwise, the walls are thin enough that we could hear the person next door snoring. Service was poor. The bed had been made, but there were no towels in the room when we came back. Also, watch out for a two-night minimum at times. That wasn’t made clear when booking, so my son was charged for two nights despite staying only one, making the room very expensive for what he got.

The room was clean and cozy, and the AC worked well. The TV was a good size, though stuck in the corner instead of in front of the bed. The mattress was too firm for me, so I didn’t find the bed very comfortable. The price seemed fair for what you get.

The place was available and clean, but the price felt high for what you get. It’s very much a budget inn and badly needs a remodel. There was outdated multicolored shag carpet on the bed stand, and the coffee maker was missing major parts, so it was useless. The windows opened better than the AC worked. And those mattresses were super hard.
