Ali Baba Motel

The only thing I liked was that the rooms are somewhat spacious. Management was so rude, and they refused to return my deposit. There’s a $10 charge for any guest who comes into your room, even briefly, or you can be told to leave. I went next door to say hello to an old friend. Right after I walked in, the motel phone rang. A manager told my friend he had to pay for three guests. It was just me, and I explained that I had a room next door, but she insisted she’d seen other people enter. She came over and searched the room, even looking in the shower for people supposedly hiding. She found no one else, then left with a good night and no apology. I thought it was extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. I normally don’t write reviews, especially long ones, but I won’t stay here again. The 4+ star reviews are fake, in my opinion.

At least there are beds, but the rest was rough. There was dried gum on the outlet between the beds and under the desk, plus torn bits of paper on the floor. The bath water never got hot, the fridge wasn’t plugged in, and only one English-language channel worked. The pool area was gross. My husband cleaned it and found the filter full of broken water balloons. The hot tub was as cold as the pool, the sauna seemed to be missing, and the pool bathroom was out of slender man.

The room was disgusting, and I didn’t see any housekeeping staff. The owners seemed to spend their time watching guests on video and calling to complain about what they saw. A friend stopped by to say hi, and they yelled at us, demanding $10 or threatening to kick us out. This deserves zero stars, though Google won’t allow that. Stay away, like everyone else.

If you can spend a few more dollars for somewhere nicer, I’d strongly suggest doing that. I called Ali Baba to ask the price, and the customer service was poor, with no people skills. I know you get what you pay for, but I still feel like I paid too much. The hotel felt sketchy and run down, and I couldn’t decide whether to sleep under the sheets or on top of the bed in my clothes. I could keep ranting, but I’ll stop here. Otherwise, you may end up wishing you’d picked somewhere else.
