The room was small, with no hair dryer or closet for hanging clothes. They’d put the toilet and shower in a separate room, while the sink and mirror faced the bed. Fengshui-wise, I’m not a fan of that setup, but it was okay-ish. There were no slippers, so we walked barefoot, but the floor didn’t feel slimy or sticky. The room and bed were clean, with no sign of bed bugs. Check-in and checkout were fast. We got a pretty great price on booking.com.

The area felt safe and was nice and clean, and the room itself was fine. It had been updated recently, though it was a bit spartan. The walls were paper thin, so why were people arguing at 5 a.m.? And why was a cat meowing?

I’ll definitely come back to Newport Bay Inn. The remodeled rooms have lovely vanity mirrors and bathrooms so nice they feel like a lavish hotel. The rooms are new and super clean, and the managers are always nice. It feels safe and comfortable for people of any age, and it’s very affordable compared with other places in OC. I’ll always recommend it to friends and family who need somewhere to stay when they visit.

The new room is really, really nice and clean. The new management is friendly, especially the lady, who’s so helpful and kind. It’s the best in the area, highly recommend.
