The breakfast was basic, with no waffles, but it had hard-boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, three kinds of cereal and milk, juice, coffee, and instant oatmeal. My room had a microwave and a small fridge, and my Chihuahua was happy there too. Dogs are allowed, and she even got a breakfast treat! Check-in was easy and the price was very reasonable. I'd requested a first-floor accessible room and got one. I'd stay here again.
The room was quiet, so I got the sleep I needed. The shower was strong, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the linens and towels looked clean and smelled fresh, and the staff were friendly. It was also easy to reach from the highway. Still, the room had some serious problems: no light in the bathroom or shower, water-damaged and warped cabinetry, a strong mildew smell that stayed even after the A/C ran for hours, and a gross stain on the upholstered chair that made me unwilling to sit on it. I get the impression the property may be underfunded, or that too much was paid for the building and guest revenue isn't enough for renovations. It needs better management of the money for repairs, deep-cleaning the smelly air handlers, and replacing ruined wood trim and cabinets. They might be able to charge more per room, but people probably wouldn't pay it without improvements. I don't like leaving harsh reviews, and I do wish them well. With proper handling of funds, this could be a much better operation.
The ladies at the front desk and in housekeeping were really friendly. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable, though the pillows were much too soft for me. The tub drained slowly and could use an upgrade, but the water was hot and the pressure was great. And, oh, breakfast is cereal.
I was told I was banned, and after the way the older woman on the night shift handled things, I was leaving anyway. When I mentioned the problems to the front desk after the second day, she made a big deal of it and got loud with me. She seemed to feed into the negativity. The first room had no heat, no microwave plate, quite a few flies, and a ceiling that creaked constantly. I found out it had recently flooded, so we switched rooms without making a fuss. Then the second room had roaches and a toilet that kept running. I had been tipping the housekeepers while I was at work, but things were still stolen from me. This business could be nicer, but the staff lack professionalism.
Good place for the price, with good customer service. It was a last-minute reservation when we needed somewhere to stay while between moves. Joe Pawloski, a relative, booked Tony Pawloski, his brother, for five more days, which was nice. Thanks, Super 8, for being there when we needed a place. I almost forgot the head maid, a great gal with a wonderful personality. They also had good-tasting coffee available throughout the day.
