Around 5 a.m., a dog kept barking because its owner had left it crated alone to go to work. I understand they allow dogs, but that was a lot. I’ll never stay here again. When I arrived, the room booked online through a third party wasn’t available. The older woman working that evening checked the computer, saw another room marked “dirty,” but gave me a key anyway and told me to come back if it really was dirty. I’m glad the people who’d been in there weren’t still inside. The TV was on, and a cell phone was lying on the bed. I’d walked all the way into a room that had clearly already been rented. I’m a middle-aged woman, and I was furious and terrified. What if someone had been in the room? I went back to explain, but the woman acted very nonchalant. She found us another room, but it wasn’t the king-size room I’d booked. By then, we didn’t care. There was also a note on the door warning us not to leave it open or pests could get in.

The room smelled of years of cigarette smoke, and I felt nauseous and stayed awake for half the night. Towels were stained and worn out, the toilet kept running off and on, and the cleaning was poor. I even found hair in places like the bathroom sink, where I don’t want to know where it came from. The photos are misleading. At best, this is a one-star motel with old, worn amenities. The view didn’t match the pictures, and the mountains were only visible from the front desk. I didn’t see a pool table or bar, and the pool looked pretty cruddy. It’s poorly maintained and needs a thorough makeover. I wouldn’t come back.

I was on a road trip when my car broke down, so I booked here at the last minute. The woman at the front desk was nice, and being right off the highway was convenient, but the room was disgusting. There was hair on the bed and in the shower, stains all over the bed skirt, sticky floors with footprints from previous guests, and grime covering the bathroom walls and floor. Nearly every corner had cobwebs. The towels and washcloths were stained, and there were things left by previous guests in the fridge. It left me wondering what had actually been cleaned. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We came to town for our son’s baseball tournament after the director recommended this hotel. Half our team stayed here, along with other tournament teams, and we were all unimpressed. The whole place was disgusting. Our non-smoking room smelled awful and hadn’t been vacuumed. There was hair in the shower, the floors were filthy, and the shower curtain fell every time one of us used the shower. We didn’t have enough towels for our family: the double room came with three dirty towels and two washcloths. When I called the front desk, they said they had no more, so I asked for at least one towel per person. We’d been told by email that the hotel was “recently renovated,” but it badly needs some TLC, because nothing seemed new or renovated. We were told we could get a rollaway cot for an extra charge, but none was available when we arrived. Apparently the hotel only owns one. We had also arranged a 1 p.m. late checkout, but our keys stopped working at 11. I went to find someone at the desk and nobody was there. I rang the bell several times, knocked on the office doors, and called using what little phone service I had in Covington. It took 20 minutes for someone to show up. Don’t waste your time or money. We won’t be coming back.

I came for a funeral, and the staff even offered to drive me to the service if my ride wasn’t available. The room was large and clean, and the bed was comfortable and clean too. The pool was crystal clear and not crowded, which I enjoyed. The outside could use a little cleanup.
