The rooms are affordable, rewards points can be used, and some front desk staff will even handle laundry if you ask. The longtime employees I saw regularly were warm, said hello, and sometimes stayed later than they needed to. One night and morning desk worker was especially kind and helpful, and put questions he couldn't answer in his notes for a manager. He also set out coffee early, which I appreciated since I'm up at all hours. I haven't seen him in a while, and hope Angel wasn't driven off by how some guests treated staff. Lately, staff changes have made things take longer. Housekeeping has been inconsistent, and I once saw a roach on the wall. The pool has never been open for use, and the internet and hot water can go out during thunderstorms. Desk staff seem tired and have nowhere to sit. It's also been hard to watch employees sit quietly through rude or hostile treatment, as if they can't defend themselves. Breakfast is pretty typical for a hotel, with foods that can sit out and some frozen items reheated. Management seems to want the rooms maintained, but housekeeping hasn't been doing a great job.

I'm really disappointed, especially as a Marriott member who usually chooses Marriott for work and family trips. I stayed in room 124 for a full week, starting the week of 1-19-2026. Around the third day, I noticed blood stains on the bed. I searched online and what I read pointed to bed bugs, though I wasn't convinced at first because I had no marks that day. By the following day, bites began appearing and my hand eczema flared up. It's now 2 a.m. on 1-28-26, and I regret staying there. The marks have since appeared all over, and I think my reaction may have been delayed. I'm willing to contact the town's health and human services department and have them inspect the location. I included a photo. I won't stay here again, and this has made me reconsider choosing Marriott at all.

The back walls outside could use a bit of cleaning and tidying up. Inside, though, our three-day stay while working in Yoakum was great. The rooms were very clean, the staff was lovely, and both the front desk service and morning breakfast were awesome.

The housekeeping supervisor was rude to an employee who changed the coffee I spilled on the sheets. The employee kindly assured me she wasn't in trouble, but I could hear the supervisor biting her head off. The room itself was nasty, with stains on the worn-out feather bedding. A friend who works there told me they never change it. There was mold in multiple places, and when I tried wiping some of it, parts came off. Housekeeping was lazy. I hope someone deals with this soon, and I'll be calling head Marriott.

The woman working the front desk yesterday, 4/23/26, was so accommodating and excellent. I can't say enough about how outstanding the service was. We need more people like her in the world. Thanks again, she was out of this world!
