The little garden adds a lot of charm to the old brick building, with its balconies and details still looking remarkably well kept. I only stopped to admire the Fallon Hotel from outside, but its preserved Gold Rush-era architecture makes it a real highlight of the historic district and one of the gems of Columbia State Park.

I loved the balcony view and the cozy bed, and the staff were wonderful. The room's TV didn't matter with so much to do outside. It felt like stepping back in time, and things got a little spooky around midnight with some ghost activity. I'll definitely come back.

The cashier was really pleasant, and the ice cream parlor was clean and had a nice old-time feel, like the rest of the park. I got ice cream with hot fudge, which is hard to go wrong with. It's a good place to cool off, especially in summer, and worth stopping in.

We were the only guests there on a Friday night, and it was a strange feeling arriving so late to find the hotel locked up. Chris from the saloon let us in. Our room had period furniture and was very comfortable, with a sink and toilet in the room. The shower down the hall was fine, and the porch was a nice spot to sit. It was a good stay overall. My wife likes to think the place is haunted, so if that's your thing, there you go.
