The breakfast was an 11/10. I loved the choices, and it tasted great. Still, this was the worst hotel stay I've had. Maybe I've just been lucky until now. The location was convenient, and Dahlonega itself is a quiet town that's easy to get in and out of. There isn't much parking at the front, though there are plenty of spaces in back. With our front room and the elevator broken, we had to climb four flights from the back, or two from the front. The rooms badly need updating. The shower pressure was weak, there was a spider in the sink water, dirt in the corners of the door frames, and stains on the towels. Cleanliness was just about manageable, except for a dead stink bug in the corner. The bed seemed okay to me, but some of my family woke up uncomfortable. There's no padding on the mattress. The chairs were fine, though I didn't want to sit in the fabric one. The TV worked, but its picture was dark and we couldn't adjust it. I didn't try the other items. At check-in, we were given the wrong room number. Thankfully nobody was inside, but the room was uncleaned and the beds were unmade. A proper, fresh room is the first thing a hotel should get right, and that gave us a terrible impression from the start. It was quiet and not quiet at the same time. The town is calm, but I could hear cars on the road out front all night. The stay wasn't the greatest, and actually, it was horrible.

The room was clean and nice, and the staff knew the area and had helpful local recommendations. I was a little worried after seeing comments about musty rooms, but an Airwick was plugged in and the room smelled good. We stayed here for my sister's wedding in Cleveland, and the drive there wasn't bad. The motel is near Dahlonega, which has a lot going on for a small town. Check out the welcome center for a map for the town bears scavenger hunt. The price was fair for a basic motel room. No complaints, and I'd stay again if I came through this way.

The rooms were impressively neat and clean, and the customer service was great. The older woman at the front desk was friendly and knew the town well. She explained how to get around. This will be our home next time we visit our child at university.

After a seven-hour drive and dinner in town, we were exhausted and went to bed at 8 PM. Around 10:30 PM, someone tried to get into our room. Those guests had been assigned our room, and thankfully the bar lock was on. We couldn't get back to sleep afterward. Don't stay here if you need or value your sleep. We'd booked a king but were first given a double. The front desk changed it, but the second room had hair and dirt in the bed. The next room already had other guests in it, so we were assigned a fourth. That room seemed okay until the late-night mix-up.

The room felt a little dingy and run down, and the toilet seat was crooked. I reported it, but it wasn't fixed. They allow pets, though I worried the carpet wasn't shampooed often enough. It Tomorrow kept sniffing the floor as if another dog had marked two spots. At $30 per night for pets, they should clean more. Breakfast also ends at 9 am, which feels a little early.
