Super 8 by Wyndham Dalhart

The staff were incredibly pleasant, and the price was acceptable, in the bottom third for this town. The room was plain but very clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the small breakfast was enough. We stopped overnight in Dalhart, TX. The town smells like a giant diaper, thanks to all the Ethanol plants and cattle yards, but the Super 8 was a pleasant surprise and accommodated our short stay really well. Don't know why anyone would live here, but thank you so much.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, and everyone was very friendly. We travel with our dog, so the pet-friendly policy suited us. They asked for a $25 deposit, which we got back at the end of our stay.

The hallway smelled like straight-up smoke, which was off-putting, but my room didn’t. The TV and internet worked, and there was a medium fridge in the room. The shower was quite short, so I literally had to bend over to wash my hair. Some general maintenance and upkeep would help. Still, for the price, the place isn’t bad. Staff were friendly, breakfast was decent, and it’ll do if you need a cheap night’s stay.

There were some upgrades in the room, but it wasn’t very clean. The bathroom was dirty, and during my shower the water wouldn’t drain, so I ended up standing in a pool of dirty water. That makes me think the room and bathroom weren’t being cleaned with water and disinfectant, just spray; otherwise the cleaner might have noticed the tub wasn’t draining. They can do better. We stayed last night, and the lady let us look at the room before booking, but what can you really tell in a few seconds? The continental breakfast is eaten in the lobby.
