Le Meridien Dallas by the Galleria

The first floor looked nice, and they offered some complimentary water, which is why I’m being generous with a 3 out of 10. But the rest of the hotel felt stuffy and musty, the room was hot, and it didn’t seem updated in years. The vents had mold, there were roaches on the wall, and the pool looked disgusting in the online pictures. At one point I could see a yellow part of the pool, and there was a water leak. It feels like they don’t care enough to keep standards up compared with nearby hotels. Shiiit, they need John Taffer there to rescue the hotel, if there were a show for that.

The included breakfast was good quality, with an omelette made to order, fresh blackberries, smoked salmon, and the usual continental items. Service was a bit slow, but it was mostly buffet-style, so it wasn’t too bad. I got good service recovery after replying to the service manager’s question about my stay. I was upgraded to a suite for a one-night weekday visit, and the room was a good size. It still needed more cleaning, though, and the HVAC had a musty smell. There wasn’t enough lighting for such a large space, and the bathroom felt tiny and old for the room. I found a hair on the bed, and conditioner and body wash were missing from the bulk bottles, which weren’t attached to the wall.

My spouse surprised me with a hotel stay for my birthday, and the whole visit was joyful and memorable. Rafael at the front desk made a lovely first impression, and the team stayed welcoming through every shift, including Ashten late at night. They made us feel cared for, so we extended the stay to enjoy more of it. Thank you to everyone for making it such a special celebration. We’ll treasure these memories.

The room was spacious and seemed almost new. The only drawback was that the TV felt a bit small compared with TVs at other hotels. Breakfast was part of our corporate room rate, though I’m not sure whether it’s normally free. It was buffet-style, with a chef making omelettes to order, plus cereal, fruit, pastries, and more. I recommend it!
